Eliza Friend

Eliza Friend is a Research Associate at the Center for Global Security Research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. She is currently pursuing a B.A. in International Relations at Claremont McKenna College, with a thematic focus on Security Studies. Her research interests include deterrence, nuclear proliferation, and the Middle East. At CGSR, she hopes to explore nuclear sabotage, Iranian nuclear ambitions, and Israeli strategic ambiguity.

At Claremont McKenna, Eliza is a Faculty Research Assistant at the Keck Center for International and Strategic Studies and a Handley Leadership Fellow at the Kravis Leadership Institute. During the 2022-23 academic year, she was a Gender in Security Studies Fellow at the Keck Center.
